County Durham Autistic support group is a parent run charity.

We provide advice, information and support for families and professionals. We run an informal advice line available to anyone seeking help, advice or information.

Development has enabled us to arrange workshops and information days for parents and professionals. This provides local access to those working in the field of autism. We run three to four conferences a year which are always well attended.

Affiliated to Contact a Family we have access to information and support from the National network. We can help local parents find the information and the support they need in areas such as education. We work with Local Authorities promoting awareness and improving services for people on the Autistic Spectrum.

Support group meetings are held monthly at Darlington and Stanley, children are welcome. We also hold a monthly social night for parents to meet and chat. Our monthly newsletter provides details and up to date information.

Group activities for autistic children, siblings and their families are organised throughout the year.
